Of the five new characters joining in season 3, three have names: the iemoto who heads the Daimonji school of martial tea ceremony, her grandson Sentaro Daimonji, and Tsubasa Kurenai. According to the character page on the official site, Sentaro is the heir to the Daimonji school, but he cannot bring himself to like the marriage candidate his grandmother keeps pushing on him, so he is looking for a woman strong enough to wreck the engagement. Masako Nozawa voices the iemoto and Jun Fukuyama voices Sentaro. The remaining two are still listed with their names hidden: Mayumi Tanaka plays a master of martial tea ceremony and Saori Hayami plays the other.
Tsubasa Kurenai is a former classmate with a taste for disguises who is in love with Ukyo. Knowing that Ukyo already has a fiance changes nothing, and the love letters keep coming. Minami Tanaka provides the voice. The third trailer, released on 14 September, moves through the tangled feelings of Ranma, Akane and Ryoga before bringing the new characters on one after another. The key visual shown earlier at a fan meeting on 25 July had the same shape: Ranma, Akane and Ryoga at the centre, ringed by the newcomers.
Season 3 starts on 3 October on Nippon TV, every Saturday at 24:55, with the Nippon TV network following nationwide. The official site says Netflix will stream it exclusively right after each broadcast. For season 1, Netflix's Korean-language announcement of 24 August 2024 promised new episodes worldwide every week from 6 October. Konosuke Uda directs, Kimiko Ueno handles series composition, Hiromi Taniguchi designs the characters, Kaoru Wada writes the music and MAPPA produces.
The opening is Fumino's 'Sunao Miman' and the ending is Yuika's 'Kawaikunai'. Both were heard for the first time in the third trailer. On 3 October, the day of the first broadcast, a special advance screening and talk show brings out Kappei Yamaguchi, Noriko Hidaka and Koichi Yamadera, and late that same night Kappei Yamaguchi and Megumi Hayashibara host a watch party live on the anime's official X account. Seiya of the comedy duo Shimofuri Myojo has been named promotional ambassador and will appear in season 3 as a guest voice, though his episode and role have not been announced.
The original manga by Rumiko Takahashi ran in Weekly Shonen Sunday from 1987 to 1996 and was collected in 38 volumes. In Korea, the complete edition from Seoul Cultural Publishers is up on Naver Series in all 38 volumes. If you want to revisit the season 2 story before season 3, Sunday Webry opened the chapters that season 2 covered for free on 21 September. The free window closes on 4 October, the day after the first broadcast.
