Seido High School's baseball team faces Inashiro Jitsugyo in the final once again. The second cour of the TV anime Ace of the Diamond act II -Second Season- begins at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, 11 October, on six stations of the TV Tokyo network. At a screening on 18 September that showed episode 14, the first episode of the new cour, series general producer Noboru Yamada said this really will be the final cour. Ryota Ohsaka, the voice of Eijun Sawamura, called the game against Inashiro the culmination of everything Seido has built, and added that in a sense it is the culmination of Ace of the Diamond as a whole.

The story begins when Eijun Sawamura, whose last middle school game at a small country school ended in defeat, gets a scouting offer from Seido, a baseball powerhouse in Tokyo. On a visit to the school he throws to first-year catcher Kazuya Miyuki, and with his friends cheering him on, he chooses Seido. If the first part follows a freshman who dreams of becoming the ace, act II follows Sawamura in his second year. Seido has already made it onto the Koshien stage, and the goal that remains is to win there.

The main PV for the second cour, released on 15 September, opens with captain Miyuki leading a cheer in front of his teammates in a huddle. Sawamura realizes that, win or lose, he has less than a month left to play with this team. Inashiro's second-year catcher Itsuki Tadano trusts Mei Narumiya completely: a selfish king, but there is no pitcher more dependable once he takes the mound. The video follows both teams on the day before the final, and when the game begins in the second half, GLAY's new song "NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN" comes in. The ending theme is OxT's "ROAD TO BE BLUE".

At the screening, Takahiro Sakurai, who voices Miyuki, said episode 14 depicts the players' state of mind before the deciding game with real care, even though the game itself has not started yet. Producer Yamada's pick was Miyuki's eyes. Until now they had only ever been drawn behind his glasses or sports sunglasses, and he said episode 14 shows them uncovered for the first time. The scene where the Seido players shout "We're the kings" is also in episode 14.

The original is a high school baseball manga that Yuji Terajima serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine. The first part, Ace of the Diamond, ran from 2006 to 2015, and the second part, Ace of the Diamond act II, closed out a 16-year run with its final chapter in issue 48, released on 26 October 2022. In a press release on 5 June, Bandai Namco Experience wrote that the series had passed 45 million copies in print (as of March 2026). The TV anime began in 2013 and has been adapting act II since 2019. The first cour of the Second Season aired from April to June this year.

OLM Team Yoshioka handles the animation. Hideaki Ooba directs, Kenji Konuta is in charge of series composition, and Hajime Hyakkoku writes the music. Sawamura is voiced by Ryota Ohsaka, Miyuki by Takahiro Sakurai, Satoru Furuya by Nobunaga Shimazaki and Narumiya by Yuki Kaji. The second cour introduces Shinichiro Saotome, Inashiro's second-year right fielder, voiced by Daisuke Sakuma. The official site describes Saotome as a left-handed hitter with outstanding baseball sense who was often injured and barely played in his first year.

In Japan the show airs from 11 October every Sunday at 5:30 p.m. on the TV Tokyo network and every Sunday at 9 p.m. on AT-X. Each episode streams first on Netflix right after broadcast and then rolls out to other services. In Korea, Laftel carries everything from the first season through the first cour of act II -Second Season-, and lists the second cour as an upcoming title with new episodes on Mondays. The production has never said how many volumes of the manga the anime covers, so if you want to know how the final ends before the anime gets there, read act II to the end. Kodansha's K MANGA carries Ace of the Diamond Act II in English, and the Korean edition from Haksan Culture is complete in 34 volumes on RIDI.
