Nano Machine starts with a machine going into someoneโs body. Cheon Yeo-un is the illegitimate son of the High Priest of a demonic cult, and he ranks dead last among the candidates for the position of Minor Priest. Moments before he is killed, a descendant arrives from the future and injects a nanomachine into him, and the board tilts. Martial arts fiction, the genre this belongs to, is built on trained fighters measuring themselves against each other in a shared underworld, and the cult here is the great faction that stands against the orthodox schools. The source is a web novel by Hanjung Wolya that won the grand prize at the third Korea Web Novel Contest; Naver Series lists it at 342 chapters, and the print edition runs to 51 completed volumes.
The webtoon opened on June 10, 2020 with an episode titled simply โPrologue.โ Great H handles the adaptation and GGBG the art, and it holds a Thursday slot on Naver Webtoon in Korea. Season 1 ended on March 8, 2023 at episode 142, and after a four-week break season 2 opened on April 5 with episode 143. As of August 19, 2026 the free run reaches episode 319, which opens chapter 103 of the story, with paid early access up to episode 326. That makes six years and two months of weekly serialization, rated 15 and over in Korea.
The overseas footprint is the more striking half of the numbers. On Naver Webtoon 779,249 readers keep the series in their favorites. The English edition updates every Wednesday on WEBTOON and shows 30.8 million views against 355,503 subscribers. The traditional Chinese edition, ๅฅ็ฑณ้ญ็ฅ, has its first season marked complete with a second season running on its own page, and the simplified Chinese edition had reached episode 322 by August 19, 2026. There is a Japanese edition titled ใใ้ญ็ฅ, plus French and Thai versions.
Two things are worth knowing before you start. The structure is a ladder: a boy who never learned a martial art climbs one rung at a time with a machine helping him read and correct his technique, which means tests and rank duels keep coming back around. If that loop does not appeal, the first hundred episodes will feel long. And unlike the novel, which is finished at 342 chapters, the webtoon is still running, so the ending is not available in this form yet. No screen adaptation has been announced as of August 2026.
The English edition is on WEBTOON from episode one, and the Korean original is on Naver Webtoon and Naver Series. You do not need any background in martial arts fiction to follow it, because the story hands you one opponent at a time instead of a family tree of schools and generations to memorize.
