Rei Chan loves romance manga and has her first boyfriend picked out: Hansum Ochinchin, the best-looking boy in school. The plan falls apart when the most popular girl in class, Hanna, declares herself a rival for Rei's heart. That is the premise as WEBTOON states it, and as the title says, the not so shoujo love story starts there.
Curryuku is an illustrator based in California, and this is her debut. The series began on WEBTOON Canvas, the platform's open section, in 2018 and moved to Originals on 8 September 2020. It is filed under comedy and runs to 121 episodes; nothing new has been posted since the season 2 finale on 20 May 2024.
It was written in English for WEBTOON. A Korean edition was not confirmed. VIZ Media announced a four-book print deal in October 2023 and published volume 1 on 13 May 2025 under VIZ Originals, its imprint for work it develops itself: episodes 1 to 15 plus a new bonus short story, 256 pages.
Volume 4, released on 15 September, collects episodes 48 to 62. Mr. Koko, the school's founder, slips on a banana peel and lands in hospital, Rei becomes suspect number one, and whether she gives Hanna her answer under the fireworks is where the volume leaves off. It is rated Teen, and the episodes remain free to read on WEBTOON.
