Taxi Driver (๋ชจ๋ฒํ์), written by Carlos and drawn by Keukeujaejin, is the story of a taxi company that takes revenge on your behalf. The ordinary-looking Rainbow Taxi offers a service called โREVENGE-CALLโ that carries out revenge exactly the way the client wants, and the driver behind the wheel, Kim Do-gi, is the protagonist. Because the premise is punishing offenders the law let slip, in the clientโs place, the original ran with a 19+ rating, and episodes are numbered like โEp 1-1,โ each case spread across several installments.
The original had already finished when it was re-released on Kakao Webtoon and KakaoPage on January 18, 2023, from the prologue through episode 104. Since then the world has kept expanding on the webtoon side too. On February 2, 2023, timed to the dramaโs second season, the sequel Taxi Driver: Recall began, following Do-gi after he loses his colleagues and joins forces with a new taxi company; it ended on December 14 that year at 75 episodes, with story by Kim Do-ha and art by DANX2. On October 11, 2025 a new season, Taxi Driver: Born in Black, started on KakaoPage, written once again by Carlos and drawn by Choi Seung-jin. Set before season one, it follows Chae Jeong-eun, a returning character, who takes a call from Do-gi and joins Rainbow Taxi as an intern driver.
The drama ran three seasons in SBSโs Friday-Saturday slot. Season one aired sixteen episodes from April 9 to May 29, 2021, with Lee Je-hoon as Kim Do-gi, Esom as prosecutor Kang Ha-na, Kim Eui-sung as Rainbow Transportโs CEO Jang Sung-chul, and Pyo Ye-jin as the hacker Ahn Go-eun. Its nationwide peak was 16.0%. Season two ran sixteen episodes from February 17 to April 15, 2023 and closed on 21.0%, and Lee Je-hoon took the Grand Prize at that yearโs SBS Drama Awards. Season three opened on November 21, 2025 at 9.5%, the highest premiere rating of any miniseries aired in 2025; episode 14 peaked at 14.2%, and the finale on January 10, 2026 drew 13.3%. Lee Je-hoon won the Grand Prize again at the 2025 SBS Drama Awards, his second for the same series.
As of August 2026 there is no official announcement that a fourth season is in production. In a report dated January 24, 2026, Lee Je-hoon said he had โnot been told anything yetโ and was โwaiting for news like any other viewer,โ and at the end of that month Kim Eui-sung posted a photo of the leads with the director and writer, captioned โit ainโt over till itโs over,โ which raised hopes further. In the meantime there is plenty to read. Taxi Driver: Born in Black ended on June 13, 2026 at 55 episodes, so the original, Recall, and Born in Black can now be read back to back without a gap.
The original is available from episode one on Kakao Webtoon and KakaoPage. The original is rated 19+, Recall is rated 15+, and Born in Black comes in a general edition and a separate 19+ complete edition. If you watched the drama first, there is fun in spotting which cases were adapted and how; just go in knowing the comic is more graphic than the show. (As of August 21, 2026)
