Hit and Maika, two Inklings, in four-panel gags. Hideki Goto draws it, and the blurb on volume 1 says it was running in two magazines at once, Bessatsu CoroCoro Comic and CoroCoro Ichiban!. Volume 1 came out on 27 December 2017, and every volume since repeats Shogakukan's promise that it is funny whether or not you play the game.
Japan numbered the books up to 6 and then switched to subtitles: a book about arriving in Splatsville, a book of Turf Wars on new stages, and, on 26 December 2025, a book set in the Splatsville lobby, nine in all. The last three take their material from Splatoon 3's setting, its new weapons and stages.
VIZ Media's English edition, Splatoon: Squid Kids Comedy Show, stops at volume 6, which the publisher labels the final volume. The paperback of volume 6 came out on 9 August 2022. The 22 September entry on VIZ's calendar is the digital edition of that same volume 6, which is easy to mistake for a new book if you were waiting for one. Volumes 7 onward have not appeared in English, and no Korean edition was found.
