I'll Take the Front

This place closes when the sun goes down, so closing time shifts every day, and lately it comes a minute or two earlier each evening. Of the forty bikes, two are tandems. One has a front saddle so low that the men who rent it bring it straight back, saying their knees hit the handlebars. She could raise it, but in five years she never has; she only wipes it down. Ten minutes before closing that bike came back, and the woman who had ridden in front said the low saddle was just right for her.
