Sitara has nothing left of the country she was born into. What she finds instead is a house full of books and people willing to teach her to read them.
The Mongol Empire keeps expanding while she studies, until it arrives at the place she had begun to treat as home. Taken captive by the empire’s fourth prince, she comes away wanting revenge. Töregene, Muhammad and Sorghaghtani Beki fill out the supporting cast. The show is filed under adventure and drama, and it needs both registers: the width of the campaigns on one side, one person’s slow reckoning on the other.
Science SARU is animating, with Naoko Yamada as chief director and Kenichi Yoshida credited for both character design and animation direction. Toshiyuki Inoue appears on key animation for episode six. Chris Cason wrote the English dub script, and new episodes are still arriving.
