Kinema Citrus is producing the twelve-episode series, which premiered on 6 July 2026 and is still on the air. Ikimono-gakari performs the opening theme. The openingโ€™s key animation credits include Ryouji Masuyama, Tokuyuki Matsutake and Eisaku Kawanami, the last of whom also worked on episodes 1, 3 and 7. Kou Yoshinari handled key animation for the promotional video.

The setup borrows a very old shape of story and picks it up two hundred years after the point where such stories usually end. Alongside Lara, the series lists Mari Ootsu as its other lead, with Luca in a supporting role and a narrator speaking from outside the frame. Drama, fantasy and romance are all on the label, and the premise leaves room for each of them.
