I Was Saving That Corner

She only ever plants twenty-four seedlings. The bag always holds twenty-five, and the extra one is thrown in for free, but there is nowhere to put it, so she brings it home. The far right corner of the plot is kept empty. She did the same this year, and as she turned to go she found that corner wet, the one patch of ground she has never watered. Following the hose to the end, she counted six joints, and no two of them were wrapped in the same colour of tape.
