A dragon lives deep in a forest, breathes fire, and would rather never meet a human. That he grew up at all is down to a mother cat, who took him in and kept him. The Cat and the Dragon, an ONA that began streaming on 27 June 2026, opens from that mismatch.
The dragon has a forest full of curious cats to watch over. Not all of them stay in it. One of them takes to the road in the company of a human prince; another has settled in a city, where the passing crowds fill its days. Somewhere along the way his stance on humans softens.
OLM animates the series, with Mitsutaka Hirota on series composition, Rie Nishino on character design, Takahiro Obata on music, Kenji Takahashi as director of photography and Makiko Kojima on color design. Twelve episodes of adventure and fantasy run through to 12 September 2026.
