Sunrise built a war story on original character designs credited to CLAMP, and Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion is the result. It ran 25 episodes between October 2006 and July 2007, with Goro Taniguchi directing.
A number replaces a name here. Britannia hands the country an administrative label, Area 11, and the people living under it answer to Elevens instead of to what they were. The war that produced that label was short, closed out inside a single month by armored machines built to walk, the Knightmare Frames. Lelouch Lamperouge sits at the center of the series, and the title states his direction plainly enough, rebellion.
The credits keep C.C. and Kallen Stadtfeld in the main cast alongside him, with Shirley Fenette listed in support. Five genres are attached to the series at once, action, drama, mecha, science fiction and thriller. Taniguchi also drew storyboards for the first episode and the first opening, and directed the second one.
